About

Who are these guys?

The Colorado News Platoon is a group of conservative, Colorado-based bloggers, policy wonks, political junkies and news hounds.

If you would like a closer look at each individual contributor, scroll to the bottom of this page and you’ll find a running list with links to online profiles.

What’s the point?

We at Colorado News Platoon believe that mainstream/corporate media realms have missed a lot of opportunities when it comes to breaking REAL news stories across our state. We in no way believe we can “replace” these news sources, but we know we can fill in a few gaps where much needed news and information seems to slip off the radar.

On the other side of the coin, we know that a lot of the blog content is more personal and sometimes drags the news conversation off in to the weeds (hey, a lot of us are bloggers and we have no problem admitting that). With this in mind, Colorado News Platoon intends to take qualities from both the blogosphere as well as the news media circuit, and create an informational, useful, and entertaining fusion of the two.

Is this site going to be partisan?

While our mission is not to explicitly and exclusively advocate on the behalf of any political party, we are unapologetically conservative and supportive of a free-market society and limited government, by the people and for the people. We believe that Coloradans should enjoy a transparent, open government that doesn’t tax and regulate them to death. A Colorado with laws meant to preserve rights, not deprive free men of them.

We’re not here to blindly favor one political party over another, and thus we pledge to give all parties and candidates a fair shake when reporting factual news. But we are here to make those who oppose our liberty, private property, and individualism think twice before casting that vote or supporting that policy, and we are here to expose corruption and bureaucratic excess.

Who pays the bills?

In short, YOU do! We’re an all volunteer writing staff working at this from a grassroots angle. We have a advertising revenue model in place that helps pay for hosting, design, and occasional compensation, but outside of that we have no funding whatsoever.

While that’s fresh on your mind, please consider advertising with us. It’s easy, affordable, and you’ll be supporting a true grassroots news organization by doing so. Click here to get the low down on advertising here at the Colorado News Platoon.
